Has the internet positively or negatively impacted human society?

 

The internet is a global system of communication, that was released around 1960 and the develop of new technology has contributed and has allowed that all people already have electronic device, therefore it is easier for them to access the internet, even children from 3 to 10 years old already have their own device which was not like that before, although technology is advancing there are aspects in which they are good and others are not, in general, the internet has changed the lives of human beings over the years, and it has come to make our life easier but at the same time has bad consequences and there are two things that comes along with the internet, positive or negative change? We are going to find these actions through experience and cases that have had a positive impact or negative impact in the society. And this leads us to think if we really are using it in a good way or if we are using it in a bad way, especially in this generation where the people spend amount of hours in front of the screen is this helpful or are they just wasting the time? All these kinds of questions come to our mind daily, the internet makes many things easier for us and because of this we can fail in our lives ourselves.

 

I truly believe that internet is causing both, positive and negative impacts however in our society the result is negative, I think they are happening at the same time, first of all I think positive because now if we want to research something we google it and in less than a minute we have the answer, we can find a lot of information and good resources on internet and also has helped in virtual education, with access to internet we can develop many things since our home, how for example work, buy products, make appointments’ communicate with your family or friends at a distance etc., we have a lot of advantages, but there are disadvantages too, and that is what happening in our society, (1) the new generation (children and teenagers ) nowadays people prefer to be on the phone or computer instead of spend time with the family, another thing is that the amount of hours seeing the screen it is bad for the sight in specially children, a lot of children are using glasses and this was not happening before, they should do healthy activities like playing with other children and interact, learning new things, (2) teenagers are using internet for useless things they spend hours scrolling videos on Tik Tok, YouTube, Facebook and that is a waste of time they should do something productive with their lives, (3) Bad contents for children the future depends on these kids and so on the society, so with the internet it is difficult because they can find content that are not for their age and this could be a problem (4) the parents, are not responsible of children nowadays they cry asking for the parent’s phone and the big mistake they make is give it to them and that is not the solution, they have to educated them.

 

 

In conclusion of the impact in our society, I would say that the internet has a controversial impact and it is in a bad way, however we have all these good benefits in our society has more negative impact due to our behavior because we do not use it as it should, the internet is causing problem of self-steem, depression because they want to live the other people’s life instead of improving theirs, bad behavior in children and that means that the future of the society will get worse, the facilities the internet has given us has caused that human beings become lazy, they are getting used to do anything, teenagers drop out of school and prefer to become a youtuber instead of studying a university career, perhaps we should point out the fact that the responsible of stop or reduce these actions are the parents, they have to get to work more in their children’s life to ensure a better life for  themselves and to build  together a better society.
