One year later!

One Year Later: Still Becoming Hi guys. It’s me, Dania, and I’m finally back after almost two months without posting here. I honestly don’t even know how to start this post because there are so many things I want to say, and at the same time, I feel like I have been trying to write about them for weeks without actually finding the time to sit down and put everything into words. I have thought about writing this post so many times. I have even started writing about some of the things that have been happening in my life, but somehow, I never had enough time to stop, think, organize my thoughts, and actually finish what I wanted to say. And maybe that is exactly what this post is about: life becoming so busy that sometimes you barely have time to process what is happening to you. First of all, I have to acknowledge something that I cannot believe I almost forgot to celebrate here. It has officially been one year since I started this little project . One year ago, I decided to create...

The Inconvenient Charger

A few days ago, I experienced something simple but meaningful that reminded me of how God works in our lives. I was looking for my phone charger, and I felt frustrated because I could not find it. I assumed my brother had taken it, since he often uses it to charge his phone. While searching, I found another charger that was longer and looked better, so I decided to use it. To my surprise, it charged my phone much faster than the charger I had always used. My old charger had become inconvenient because it charged very slowly and sometimes did not work at all, even when plugged in. The next day, I found my old charger and realized I had been the one who misplaced it. That small situation made me reflect on something deeper: sometimes God does not allow us to get what we want because He knows He has something better prepared for us. What feels like an inconvenience or disappointment in the moment may actually be God redirecting us toward something greater. Even in small situations, G...

Reflections on Love, Relationships, and Human Behavior

What immediately makes you lose interest in someone romantically? For me, one of the main things that immediately makes me lose interest in someone romantically is when they do not share the same values and beliefs as me. I think that is the core foundation of a relationship. Especially when it comes to religion and faith, if two people are not aligned in that aspect, I personally believe the relationship is pointless from the beginning. It does not mean the other person is bad or less valuable as a human being. It simply means that both people are walking in different directions in life. You can respect someone, care about them, and even be friends with them, but when it comes to building a future together, shared beliefs matter deeply to me. Can two people care about each other and still be incompatible? I think two people can care about each other, but not necessarily in a deeply romantic way if they are fundamentally incompatible. I would honestly remove the word “deeply” fro...

The Moment Someone Chooses to Continue Hurting Others

One of the most difficult realizations I have had is understanding that some people are fully aware that they are hurting others, yet they still decide to continue. At first, I used to think that people who emotionally damage others simply did not realize the consequences of their actions. However, over time, I began to understand that there are situations in which a person clearly sees another person suffering and still chooses not to stop. This realization made me reflect deeply on human behavior, empathy, and responsibility. Many people explain manipulative or harmful behavior by connecting it to childhood trauma, emotional wounds, or painful life experiences. I believe that childhood experiences truly shape people and influence the adults they become. Someone who grew up surrounded by manipulation, emotional neglect, or toxic environments may repeat those same behaviors later in life because it became normalized for them. However, even if trauma explains certain actions, it do...

The Weight I Don’t Have to Carry

The smell of paint filled the air as I stood beside my dad, holding the hose steady so it wouldn’t touch the car. My job was simple: stay alert, be careful, and support him while he worked. It had been about a month since he last painted, and I could see the tension in him. His movements were more cautious than usual, and there was a quiet nervousness in the way he handled the paint gun. He was worried. I wasn’t. It wasn’t that I didn’t understand the situation. I knew things could go wrong. The paint could drip, the finish could come out uneven, or something unexpected could happen. I was fully aware of the risks. But none of that made me anxious. If something went wrong, he would be the one to fix it. He was the one responsible for the final result. My role was simply to assist. And that’s when it hit me. Recently, my family has been going through a difficult situation. We lost a significant amount of money. I say “lost” because we don’t have it right now, but I still believe th...

Singleness

The following paragraph highlights my perspective as a Christian. So, feel free to read and comment if you like!  Singleness is often misunderstood as availability, but the two are not the same. Some people choose to remain single for life, and that decision deserves respect. Others desire marriage, yet are living in a season of singleness, not because they are waiting for just anyone, but because they are waiting intentionally. Being single does not mean being emotionally or romantically available, nor does it mean entertaining flings, situationships, or temporary connections. For many, especially Christians, this season is a time of growth, prayer, and preparatio becoming fully rooted in God, healing emotionally, and working on personal character. It is easy to list standards for a future partner, but maturity asks a deeper question: Am I becoming the person I hope to date? Singleness is not a void to fill, but a season to steward wisely. Putting yourself “out there” does...
Recently, I listened to an emergency call that deeply affected me. In the recording, a woman called for help reporting a fire in her house and asking for an ambulance because her stepson was injured. When authorities arrived, they discovered that the fire had been started by a thirty-year-old man who set it intentionally to escape from the house. He explained that he had not been allowed to leave since he was around eleven years old. He described being fed limited rations and living without basic care, which made the situation extremely disturbing to hear. Listening to this felt like watching a horror movie, not because it was fictional, but because it revealed how real human decisions can deeply affect another person’s life. Reflecting on the call made me pause and analyze it from multiple perspectives instead of reacting emotionally alone. From the mother’s perspective, even if she gave custody to the father and possibly faced legal or personal limitations, I feel there was stil...
For me, forgiveness is primarily about obedience to God, because that is the foundation that guides my actions and decisions. I believe that when I choose to obey Him, love and compassion for others naturally follow, even when it is difficult or when I feel I have been treated unfairly. Through that process, I also experience inner peace, since I know I am acting according to my values and keeping my heart free from resentment. While forgiveness includes compassion for the other person and peace within myself, I see these as outcomes that grow from obedience rather than separate motivations. In that sense, forgiveness is not just an emotional response for me. It is a conscious spiritual choice that shapes how I relate to others and how I maintain peace in my life.
God is an awesome God! Sometimes we think we have to feel spiritual in order to pray or read the Bible, but I’ve been learning that consistency matters more than emotions. Lately, I’ve been trying to change small parts of my routine to spend more time with God, even on days when I don’t feel like it. And something beautiful keeps happening: whenever I’m going through a situation and I open the Bible, I always find a chapter or a verse that speaks directly to what I’m living. It feels like God is gently guiding me, reminding me that I’m not alone and that He knows exactly what I need. This has taught me that even when we feel distracted, tired, or distant, we should still pray and open His Word. Comfort doesn’t always come from our feelings sometimes it comes from choosing to seek Him anyway, and discovering that He was ready to speak to us all along.

A matter of time!

This movie was truly brilliant and deeply touching. What made it so powerful wasn’t just the love story, but the message behind it: forgiveness and peace. The story shows how life doesn’t always turn out the way we expect, and how betrayal, pain, and disappointment can leave us stuck in bitterness for years. What stood out to me the most was how forgiveness didn’t come easily or quickly it required honesty, faith, and the courage to let go. Nathan’s journey reminds us that sometimes peace only comes when we choose to forgive, not because others deserve it, but because our hearts need freedom. Even when things don’t work out as we imagined, God can still bring purpose, healing, and peace through the process. This is why I truly recommend this movie it’s realistic, emotional, and full of meaning.

A Second Try That Didn’t Work Out

Back in September, I applied for a job opportunity and got rejected at a very early stage because I couldn’t clearly explain what the simple present tense was. That moment hurt more than I expected, especially because I’m studying to become an English teacher. I remember thinking, How am I supposed to teach English or even graduate if I’m already in my fourth year of college and I can’t explain such a basic grammar topic? That thought completely shattered me. I felt embarrassed, discouraged, and questioned my own abilities. Still, earlier this month in December, I decided to try again. By God’s grace, I passed the initial stage, even when the recruiter was clearly skeptical. I truly believe God was the one who gave me that opportunity. The process included a one-month training program, but I couldn’t pass the first week because the required score was 7, and I got a 6. When they asked me to leave the session, I felt deeply sad. However, this experience taught me something very importa...
Hi there! It's been quite a while...... This semester has been one of the clearest reminders of how faithful and beautiful God is. He has guided me with patience, strengthened me in moments of pressure, and helped me reach places that I could never reach on my own. Every grade I received, the 9s, the 10s, even the 8s  has been a testimony of His grace working in my life. I have seen classmates put extraordinary effort into their work, and yet God has surprised me with results that only He could make possible. When I received a perfect score, even higher than those who seemed more prepared, I knew it was His hand and not my own strength. I am far from perfect, but every day He teaches me, shapes me, and reminds me that trusting in Him opens the doors that effort alone cannot. I simply want to recognize His goodness, because without Him, none of this would make sense. God has been so, so good to me!

I cannot believe it

I cannot believe it! This morning, as I stood under the shower, I found myself thinking about buying a body soap, since I was running out of shampoo. Later, about half an hour later, I felt a gentle nudge in my heart to visit my grandmother, who had recently undergone eye surgery and couldn’t wash her clothes herself. When I arrived, I was perfectly on time to take care of the laundry before my aunts could handle it, ensuring my grandmother was comfortable and cared for. As I was leaving, she pointed me to a drawer where I found a soap, exactly what I had been thinking about earlier. In that moment, I felt a profound sense of gratitude, realizing that it was truly God who had heard my thoughts and provided exactly what I needed within less than an hour. It was a powerful reminder of His care and presence in my life, and I’m deeply grateful for His constant attention and love. It was truly a glimpse of how amazing and powerful He is, always taking care of me.

Done

“Done.” Today, I discovered the real weight of this small but powerful word. It all started when my sister told me that my dad wanted to eat and asked me to prepare something for him. I went to the kitchen, made food as quickly as I could, and brought it to him with the best intentions. But he didn’t want it. I tried again, twice even sent my mom to give it to him, and still, he refused. At one point, he even threw the plate away. I didn’t shout or argue; I just stayed quiet. I wasn’t angry or sad anymore; I was just done . That’s the thing about this word. In English, “done” means more than “tired” or “angry.” It means you’ve reached your limit. You’ve tried your best, and now there’s nothing left to say or do. In Spanish, I would say “ya no puedo más,” but it doesn’t carry the same quiet strength. “Done” holds a strange peace, the kind that comes when you finally stop fighting what you can’t control. Maybe that’s what maturity looks like: learning to stay calm, to let go, and...
Just Be Present in the Moment Yesterday, I was really struggling with my Excel project. The numbers weren’t aligning, and I couldn’t figure out why my highest value was 62 when it should’ve been 60. I spent hours researching, watching videos, and asking questions, feeling overwhelmed and tired. But in that moment of frustration, I prayed and asked God for guidance and little by little, things started to make sense. What amazed me most was that while one of my classmates spent almost three days trying to get the same result, I was able to complete everything in just a few hours. That wasn’t me, it was God’s wisdom working through me. He gave me clarity, patience, and strength when I needed it most. This experience reminded me to just be present and recognize what He does for me every single day. Sometimes we take His help for granted, but when I look back, I know that without Him, I’d still be stuck, lost in confusion. All the glory and praise go to Him because He never leaves m...

A discovery

A discovery! As a future teacher, I want to start each class with a short prayer to invite God’s presence and guidance into the learning process. I believe that every class should begin with gratitude and reflection, reminding my students that wisdom and understanding come from Him. During my very first class, I want to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere by organizing activities that help us build rapport and get to know one another. I plan to include fun and engaging games such as “Hot Potato,” “Find Someone Who,” or “Two Truths and a Lie,” so that my students can feel comfortable, laugh, and start developing a sense of community. My goal is for them to see that I am not a strict nor overly relaxed teacher, but someone who finds balance, firm yet kind, respectful yet approachable. More importantly, I want my care for others to extend beyond the classroom. I don’t want to treat people outside my home with kindness while forgetting to show the same warmth to my family. I want t...
Just a Simple Decision Yesterday, while cleaning up my closet, I came across a dried flower that I had been keeping for years. Someone had given it to me on a trip, and back then, it felt meaningful, so I decided to hold onto it. I kept it carefully in a pink box, along with a rose from my high school graduation and some other small papers. Over the years, I would open the box every now and then, seeing that flower and thinking, “I’ll keep it for memories.” But yesterday, I looked at it and realized that it no longer needed to be there. I decided to throw it away, and I even burned the trash afterward. I don’t feel emotional closure, and I don’t feel lighter or heavier. I just feel normal. It was simply a choice I made, a small act of letting go. It’s funny how objects can hold memories for us, even when those memories are no longer active in our daily lives. Keeping the rose and some papers still feels meaningful, but this flower had served its purpose. And that’s okay, somet...
When Everything Changes in a Moment Hello, this is the second part of my tragedy. So you know, my phone is no longer working!!  Life can change in an instant. One moment you have everything in order, and the next, something unexpected happens that sweeps it all away. That’s what I experienced when my phone was broken. It might seem like a simple object, but inside there were hundreds of photos of memories I had collected over time. Each picture was a piece of my life: family gatherings, church moments, and simple but joyful days. In just one moment, all those memories were gone. This experience taught me an important lesson: things we build over time can be destroyed quickly, sometimes without warning. It’s a reminder that nothing is completely secure, and we must take steps to protect what matters to us. For example, I now realize the importance of backing up important files or photos. It also taught me to be more careful and value what I have, because even something smal...
When My Phone Decided to Go Swimming The day started so well, I was outside studying, enjoying the breeze, when I heard distant thunder. Like any reasonable person, I packed everything up and went inside. I placed my laptop, notebooks, and cracked-screen phone safely on the table… or so I thought. Fifteen minutes later, I went back outside to burn some trash (because, you know, multitasking life), and I took my phone with me to watch some YouTube shorts. Somehow, I set it down on top of something, got distracted, and completely forgot it existed. Fast forward: I helped my dad carry things, ran back and forth to the house, and only after a while did it hit me  Where’s my phone? Cue panic. I ran outside, and there it was… in the middle of a storm, taking a full 15–20-minute rain shower. And just to make things worse, it already had a cracked screen, so the water probably thought, “Perfect, an open door!” I guess phones need a little drama too. The Storm Behind the Storm I...
Don’t Compare Yourself to Others In today’s world, it is easy to look at other people and feel like we are not enough. Whether it is on social media, at school, or in everyday life, comparing ourselves to others is something many of us do without even realizing it. However, constantly comparing yourself to others can be harmful and stop you from being happy. It is important to focus on your own journey and remember that everyone’s path is different. Social media specially makes it easy to compare. We often see only the best moments of other people’s lives, perfect photos, achievements, and happy smiles. But we do not see the hard work, the struggles, or the times they feel down. Comparing your everyday reality with someone else’s highlight reel can make you feel insecure and unhappy. This can lower your self-esteem and make you forget how valuable and unique you truly are. The truth is that everyone has their own pace and their own path in life. People grow and succeed in d...
